Birkenstocks haven taken this summer by storm and I don't hate it although I wish had the foresight to anticipate them being stylish. A few years back, a parent at the school I worked at gifted me a pair. Her sister worked for the company designing straps and had given her a pair that didn't fit and I gladly took them off her hands. When I made the move cross country, I decided that I didn't wear them enough to a) take up any precious luggage room b) withstand anymore of Aaron's "really? Birkenstocks?" look. And now here we are just a few years later and I'm shopping for a new pair and Aaron is no longer surprised by anything I wear. Really though, flats that are comfortable and chic at the same time? What's not to love?
