a recent purchase you need to check out

Hey there. Just me popping in to say you HAVE to check out these leggings. I bought them last week since they are on sale as a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They're regularly $49.00 which I personally think is insane to spend on a pair of leggings (which are not real pants, btw!). Though at $31.90 I figured they were worth checking out to see if they were worth the hype.

They are.

They are thick, form fitting, and high waited so you know what that means. They hold everything in. They hit your ankle in the right spot to wear heels (if thats your jam) or flats (more my jam). They are stretchy and comfy and hold their shape! I've already worn them countless times and they hold so so well.

Check 'em out. Just a sizing note, they run a bit big so size down! The sale ends on Sunday so get them before they jump up again in price. You KNOW you'll be dying for a good pair of leggings once boot weather rolls around....

nsale 2015

So unless you've been living under a rock, you're probably well aware of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The early access for cardholders ends today and the official sale starts tomorrow. Which means... shits about to get real.

The sale is on brand new fall styles which means now it the time to stock up on quality pieces to carry you through the fall and winter. Don't be short sighted and think about warm weather pices. Think boots, ponchos, and coats because that is what the sale is geared towards.

Personally, I like to shop online. The store is probably a little combed through at this point and with free shopping, free returns and free in-store pick up, you can't really go wrong. You can take your time online and search for exactly what you're looking for. I try to focus on big ticket, high quality deals like shoes or bags. Pieces like jeans or ponchos you can pick up at so many different price points throughout the year. Those Frye boots though? They're not going on sale for awhile. So stay strategic in your shopping.

I like to focus on bags, jewelry, shoes and beauty. My picks for the sale are below!

shop to the sale: shopbop

Hi. Good morning. Stop what you're doing (except if you're drinking your second cup of coffee this morning, like I am. You may proceed). Shopbop is having their BIG EVENT sale. And friends, this is a big event. Everything, and I mean everything (well besides Stuart Weitzman), is on sale which means there is no better time than now to pull the trigger on that Pashli Satchel, Clare V. leopard clutch or those Karen Walker shades you've been lusting over. I'll be honest, Shopbop may not be my go-to retailer year round but their semi annual sales are the time to strike and pick up those dream pieces you've been saving for at a discounted rate. You're not going to to find a better deal. I promise; I've already looked :)

in my piperlime shopping cart...

It's a sad day for frugal fashionistas everywhere. Piperlime is closing their virtual doors at the end of February. Piperlime has been inching up my list of favorite stores recently with its blend of high and low price points, phenomenal customer service and frequent flash sales. But alas, I guess that just wasn't enough to compete with other big retailers.

Gap Inc's loss is our gain, though. Be ready to see a steady increase of sale items as they clear inventory. I've linked some of my favorites sale pieces under my shop tab and am also keeping a close eye on their big sales. Hello, majorly discounted Rebecca! I'm waiting for you!

Check out some more of my favorites from Piperlime below (and under the shop tab above):

currently crushing it: old navy

I considered adding DOWNSIZE to my words of resolution I shared on Tuesday. For me, downsizing means a few different things. It means downsizing my closet to be more streamlined; it means downsizing the number of work commitments so I can better my work/life balance; and it also means downsize that waistline.

Last winter, I started running pretty regularly and, surprisingly, loved it. Running was an outlet for anxiety (while probably not the healthiest advice, stress running is the best) and my waistline reaped the benefits. Since moving in with Aaron, I’ve gained a bit of relationship pudge. You know… just a little extra squish from sharing meals with a meat and potato boy with the metabolism of a 4 year old. I’m not bitter or anything.

It’s cliché but the best way, for me, to get back into the routine at the gym is to feel great in new workout clothes which can be an expensive motivational habit to form. Enter: OLD NAVY. They are crushing the activewear game this season and right now, it is all 40% off.

And while you’re in there.... pick up this sweater too. Isn’t it great?

shopbop friends and family sale - under $100!

Hey there, friends! Ready to get to shopping?

The Shopbop friends and family sale is here! Save 25% off your purchase (a few brands are excluded but if you're reading my blog, you're probably not shopping those brands anyways) with the code FAMILY25, The smartest way to shop the sale is grab some investment pieces like this clutch, or this jacket or this crossbody bag or my favorite tote and favorite pair of boots. But I've included some under $100 options in my shop tab to make things a little friendlier on your wallet.

The sale ends on 10/16. Godspeed, amigas.
