Friends, the time has come to reach a new level of truth in our friendship: I wear glasses.

For a long time, I was the only person in my family who didn't wear glasses and I wore that as a badge of honor. It wasn't that I hated the idea of wearing glasses, it was that I was only the only one who didn't need them. Fast forward to undergrad and I found myself squinting to read the board. I went to a public university in California so it was typical to have 350 people in my classes which meant our classrooms were bigger than some movie theaters. When I went to the doctor he said, either get glasses or sit closer to the board. And since I've been late to everything my whole life (literally, I was born 2 weeks late) I knew there was no chance in heck I was going to get to class early enough to get a seat close to the front. So glasses were my solution.
