five things im loving

1. beaded clutch | 2. lip gloss | 3. pom pom hat | 4, candle | 5. rings

Hello! How was your weekend?

My weekend was lovely. It was low key yet productive. I was able to spend some quality time with some girlfriends over brunch, Aaron and I's relationship survived another trip to Ikea and I did some general catching up around the house. I find that these quiet weekends running errands and getting organized make me feel far more relaxed (and content) than weekends of nothing. Does that make me a real adult? The jury's still out on that one.

I started a little closet purge this weekend and I say little because I really mean only putting aside 3 or 4 things. It feels a bit more like de-cluttering than purging but it felt great none the less. I feel like I'm removing the "noise" from my closet. Does's that make any sense at all? I find (as evident by the 5 things above) that I'm leaning towards simplistic and soft things. Probably in an effort to be cozy all.the.time. Because 100% cozy 100% of the time would be living the dream, folks.

[currently loving] the pleated maxi

Pleated Maxi

SO, confession time: I got REALLY into The Bachelor this past season. Like bought into it 100%- committed the full two hours a week, drank the rose flavored kool-aid and needed at least 30 minutes to debrief on Tuesdays with my coworker (who coincidentally announced her resignation after Sean's final rose. ....suspect timing to say the least. I'm hoping she'll come crawling back when the Bachelorette is on. *wishful thinking*) Lesley, the political consultant from DC, quickly became my favorite and just when I thought I couldn't favor her anymore, she wore that incredible hot pink Zara skirt on her one on one with Sean. You know which one I'm talking about, right? (PS- do you read The Possessionista for all things TV fashion? You should if you want to know where Lesley's hot pink skirts are from) Back to reality: I've been lusting over pleated skirts for awhile now and Lesley confirmed it. I need (read:want) a pleated skirt. Bad. So with spring right around the corner, I feel like I'm finally ready to go on this journey to fall in love with the perfect pleated skirt. And it will be the most dramatic journey yet. (ha..lame Bachelor joke...)

[currently loving] utility vests

Untitled #7

I am currently on a hunt for the perfect utility/cargo vest and it has been quite the challenge to find for a few reasons.
1) DC offers a lot of wonderful things but centralized shopping is not one of them.
2) I gave up online shopping for lent which is not making it any easier.
3) I want to find something budget friendly because this a trendier purchase.

Blargh! All I want is a utility vest to transition from winter to spring with! One that I can wear over a leather jacket in the winter and belted over a sundress for a spring brunch. Is that too much to ask??

Wish me luck and send me good shopping karma!

[currently loving] 2013

Oh hey guys, remember me? The one who had this wonderful idea to start blogging as a creative outlet and to share some of my favorite shenanigans with you? Well to my loyal readers still checking in (hi Mom), I'M BACK! With of course a new years resolution to continue (read: start) blogging consistently.

2013 has been a whirlwind so far and if it is any indication of the year to come (as obviously the first 2 weeks of any year are...) 2013 is going to be thrilling and also kick my butt. And I am ready! Fortunately, with some extra cushion in my tush if ya know what I mean... Note to self: reserve a bike for spin class tomorrow.

Cheers to an exciting new year for us all filled with adventures, love, discovery, and hopefully crossed paths. And cheers to taking more pictures as the picture below is the only picture I have from the past month.... Note to self: make resolution to take more pictures.

New Years Eve spend with close friends and our part of our amazing DC family. Jeremy was a welcomed guest :)
